Once again, can you pm me your e-mail?

If you want your files to be premium only ALWAYS, you should make a request and describe your traffic sources - we may enable that option after we verify the sources of traffic.

You also should understand one simple thing - if we allow anyone to have a premium only option for all the files, this option will be misused (will be used at all possible forums), and our file hosting will be banned there - we can not allow that.

No I want what was there originally the OPTION of either a 400mb limit or a 1000mb file size limit for free users is it that so hard to understand

You yourself made that option available as a choice. But I have just tested it and I am correct. Click the link on the site and the 400mb limit is respected.

Paste the link in a new window and over 400mb can be downloaded. So how long do you think it would take for that info to get around. Hey guys if the uploaders have a 400mb limit just copy the link into a new window to get that 700mb file

Once again my support ticket 00017898

What I can see from your account now:

    1. You have 1GB limit set up at the moment - and you have choices of 400MB and others.

    2. Your ticket does not clearly describe the situation - it is really difficult to understand the question itself from it. Glad I got it here now .

    3. Yes, you are right about the rule about the referred files. If a person opens a file link from your verified site, he will see a premium request. If someone copies a file link and pastes it into the browser - that may allow to avoid this premium request. HOWEVER according to our stats, people do download files from forums/sites, they do not copy file links. Also, if you do not announce such possibility on public, there are less chances for that.

And once again - if you really need the option for all files to be premium only - we give such possibility - you should submit a request to us - that is not difficult - and some of our partner have received and use this option already.

I believe there is nothing to argue about here. If you need premium only for all files - please submit a request. If you do not like our settings - sorry, I have tried my best to explain them to you.

    1. I had the account set up as 400mb limit which it should be still well it must be if the referred file restriction is respected. Why 400mb? because majority of my files are split, I don't have any files over 700mb and probably 6 over 400mb

2 Hey come on this is the internet and any bypass info spreads like wildfire, it also means any files that get listed in search engines, and file listing sites will be able to get around the limits

3 No I have never mentioned that I want premium only where did I post that? quite the opposite, but because I work with small file sizes I want the 400mb limit respected in other words you should seriously consider putting the restriction on the file and not where the link is embedded.
Besides a site which is premium download only would not attract my attention unless I already held the required premium, I believe users should be tempted to buy premium not forced.

Seems there is some misunderstanding here. Once again - you need the following option - all your files that are larger than 400MB should require premium, right? You can do that at the moment with the marketing settings for the files referred from your sites only - I believe that is clear.

You do not like the fact that people can overcome that and copy-paste the links - in this case we do the following - we allow marketing settings for ALL files of a partner's account if he does not misuse these options (does not matter whether referred from your site or not). For this purpose you should submit a request to our support team - we will review your traffic sources and will allow the settings (including file size limitation you need) for all your files. If you need that - please submit a request to the support.

Also, this becomes a private discussion of one case - and I do not see any reasons to continue it here. If you need marketing settings for all files - please contact our support team.

Our stats shows normal level of sales (even more), thus the system works properly. You may analyze your traffic and posting strategy to see what may prevent users from purchasing.

This is where I am baffled, I can name 3 file hosts where the file size restriction is enforced on the file, not from where its posted, and they at the moment are the biggest players. I can see how it can be abused but surely if the Maximum download file size is 1GB then that can be abused also by only posting files over 1GB. I don't really see the logic in the madness but I will submit a support ticket anyway.

There is not madness here. When we launched the service, files larger than 400MB could be downloaded by premium users only. Lost of partners and users were discontent with that - that is why we increased the limit up to 1GB. Later we have implemented these additional settings. However I see your point anyway.

Thank you for submitting the ticket.

Another quickie has the session cookie expiry been reduced over the last few days in the partners ACP because it's really annoying having to keep logging in

The check box remember me does not work for me either so I have to keep entering the details

I've tried different browsers and basic and secure log in methods but no joy.

No changes have been done to the cookies/session parameters/etc.

If you have such problems please submit a ticket with the information about your browser versions - our support team will review that.

I dont know about your pps plan, but ppd plan is crappy.I just added filepost as a mirror in my topics, but i got impossible results.Only 2 downloads in 2 days, with same stuff on wupload and filesonic i got 50 and 30 downloads.
Its impossible, coz my files was splited on 3-4 parts,so free users has used all three sites.

MY work with your site ends here...

thats normal - downloads, like sales are random - you can't guarentee sales or downloads. Every day will be different

    It's right.
but i'm sure, that the download counter is manipulated.
    Filepost 2 download
    Wupload 50 download
    Filesonic 35 download

same splited files, the downloads are designed for free users with interchangable links,so this difference is impossible.
    Thats all...

well it is... if they have premium accounts, which a lot do on wupload & filesonic as they have been going longer, people prefer some sites over others, for instance you will never see me downloading from uploading.com but i download from filesonic daily

I'm on PPS because that's what I try and target for, but well maybe there is a glitch somewhere but to accuse them of manipulating stats, well there would be no logic for doing so only suicide..

The investment for the software and the servers must be more than you, I and a bunch of others could afford, but to jeopardize that investment by reducing a few download totals would be plain madness.

Like jimbo said I think there a lot of FSC premium holders and quite a few have bought lifetime, it's pretty obvious Filepost will be ignored

Also what you need to do is look at how each host regards the free users, Do they keep the timer going for minutes or hours between downloads, or like Oron and Uploading days.

I reckon the one that treats free users fairly will win all the time.

If you post a file link with several mirrors, most likely the users will choose the file hosting they have premium account for or to which they are more used to. As was mentioned here, your users may have premium accounts for other older file hostings - and they sure will use them instead of using new hosting for free.

Btw, some of our successful partners post unique content with only one hosting links - that makes sure users can not avoid that hosting. That just depends on your goals and working style.
