Bottom line is hollywood movies and music , I think if hosts clamped down on the sharing of those files all would be cool

Lots of these guys are getting shutdown after MegaUpload got shut down. I'll be staying away from these site until things settle down. Already saw a few people get their earnings taken away after affiliate programs were shut down.

File sharing sites are getting closed. It's not the best time now, to make money uploading files.

FilePost are unlike FileSonic and MegaUpload and FileServe and others.

    1) They are smaller
    2) They are a lot more conscious and dedicated to making their site distinct from others in the industry by sending clear and consistent messages that copyrighted materials aren't welcome. FilePost closing accounts of repeat infringers isn't anything new, if you look back on the thread to months ago you will see a whole range of complaints from people pissed off that their things were removed.
    3) They don't allow remote uploading from FilePost to FilePost accounts (this avoids massive piracy).
    4) They support users who share original content. I'm one of the many who doesn't upload hollywood movies, music, or television shows and still makes money legally and safely.
    5) They offer unique marketing options that original content creators need. Such as being able to make all files premium only. Nobody is going to pay to download free illegal content and if FilePost wanted to make money this way they wouldn't allow people to set arbitrary barriers to accessing content.
To my knowledge FilePost have acted in good faith and have a super duper compliance team dedicated to DMCA requests. I would say they go above and beyond the provisions as set out in U.S. legislation and I would hope that big media can see this and invite FilePost into discussions that will benefit both entities fairly and equitably.

The weekend is just finishing for most people and payments are scheduled to be released to most of us at some point today. There may be a delay due to more people than usual requesting them. We can't really know what's going on in the background obviously a lot of legal issues need to be sorted out. But as it stands, FilePost are still active, and my premium memberships are still selling. I will post here once my payment comes through later today and earlier tomorrow.

Ps when Wupload closed in November I made a dedicated effort to choose a file hosting company I thought would be safe and not illegal. I knew that FileSonic's closeness to Wupload (owned by the same company) would inevitably lead to it being shelved, not only because of the sheer velocity of infringing content posted through their servers but also because they were advertising on warez forums, something FilePost has never done.

Here is just one example of FilePost protecting the copyright industry, arguably at its own expense, on a public forum:

filepost just blocked my account because Im sharing movies

    and FilePosts response:

I need to explain the situation here.
@mrbowman - "You upload the content that is totally not yours (you do not own rights for it) - so why are you screaming?"

It will go down as well. No wonder.

They are hosted in United States.

It's not over until the fat lady sings, or in todays world until Facebook says so. FilePost and MegaUpload operated completely separately and I can't see anything on my end that would really harm them. The CEO's of MediaFire and RapidShare have come out the other way and stated their business models are based in good faith and don't rely on copyright infringement to survive and are both still operating. Keep your chin up!

Right now the main players who baiting warez uploaders are running away screaming like headless chickens, afraid of the costly legal process in claiming innocence. The hosts (for example FilePost) who have kept a more nuanced approach to file sharing services seem to be treading the waters lightly in this case and I hope they will stick around when the courts eventually rule that MegaUpload was protected by DMCA and all of the files lost to innocent people broke privacy laws and several others. In any case I would say that it's a bleak thought to assume current affiliate programs will be able to continue on the scale they are now, I just hope that people who don't infringe copyright can still gain revenue for their hard work, and all of the leechers and warez freaks are banned as they should be. This "All of nothing" approach being taken by the justice department and consequently some file hosts is too broad and harmful to innocent people that have done nothing to deserve so much disruption.

I don't want them to go down, but they are stupid to host in United States.
