    @ Revachan you say is true. as I have said is their problem, not us. We are the uploader, not the downloader. Someone download my files? How do I know. They asked us to provide information, why we do this when they are managing the system

    @ffs

    aha ok.

    But there is another thing i just don't really understand... as the Support stated to "revachan", they don't belive that Free-Users can generate so many rewards to one account... two things:

    How shold an upper prevent from users Downloading with tools like jDownloader or Cryptload and so on, which all bypass the FF-Homepage and many of them can decrypt re-captchas too? I don't think that an notice like "don't use downloadmanagers or Filefactory cancel my rewards" takes any effect...:D

    How could it be, that on my account with ~8000 files, which generated around 500-800 dl's a day have so much fraudulent-seemed downloads??

    Do you don't see any problems in the way your scripts calculating the fraudulent users here? May it is disfunctional or simply has a low threshold for putting users on the blacklist?

    regards
    ben

    @ffs

    hm?

    But how can you differ Bot-downloads from jDownloader/Cryptload downloads? For example there iss an re-captcha reader-plugin for jDonwloader as well, and it surely seems like a bot, if some freeuser use that.

    But another Problem: how shoud i give you a proove, if i promote my links via e-mail only, or on websites that are for an closed and registered usergroup only...??

    Do you still see no problems in handle all this issues and will work thrugh all these tickets manually, instead rethinking the fraudulent-scripts?

    You may have payed more for staff-time after a short while, as the declined payments are worth off...?!

    best regards
    ben

    I request you to send mail to all their members. With full reasons for their non-payment (the reason is stupid DMCA). If you are a member of filefactory, I think you should do. That's the only way members do not get angry.

    so sad about this host, I have feeling that this thing might happen sooner or later when I read their rules about not allow mirroring files. their support is quite good in forum but this shit happens.

    blaming uploaders for uploading files that against TOS is a BIG mistake. other host (eg: Hotfile or Fileserve) just delete those DMCA reported links and keep paying their affiliates every weeks.

    you all know most contents in filehosting are copyrighted materials. no one gonna signup for premium just to download trial softwares, latest linux releases...etc.

    basic is: you mess up uploaders -> uploaders leave and use other host -> no new releases in FileFactory -> no premium sign up

    So, SOME of my files was deleted by DMCA. My payment was declined. There any chance to get the money back? I need the money 'cause I have to pay my server. If I can't get the money back, I'll stop using FileFactory.

    Thanks anyway,

    FileFactory Support, Nov 09 20:58 (EST):

    The real issue is not how we determine what traffic is fraudulent, but blocking it in the first place, and that is what we are beginning to do.

    People using JDownloader/Cryptload to automate the download process and bypass our restrictions IS considered a 'bot' download, because we gain absolutely nothing from that sort of traffic. We don't even gain ad views.

    Further, quite a few issues are caused by people mirroring files on private servers or forums, then not mirroring them publicly. It's obvious when this is happening.
    We have very complex heuristics which help us determine valid and fraudulent traffic patterns (where fraudulent means in violation of our rules, not necessarily something that's being done intentionally by the uploader). We thankfully have a huge user base so we have a lot of data to use to determine 'valid' traffic from 'invalid' or 'fraudulent' traffic. Sometimes these are wrong, and if that happens we would appreciate an email to so we can work through the issue. Generally though, these are accurate and people get pissed off and complain when they get caught.

    We want to remove Rule #5 but cannot while downloaders are taking advantage of our free service. We may eventually be forced to apply further restrictions, but hopefully it won't come to this.

    Basically - and please note, this is not directed at you but is a general statement - if thousands of unique, free users are downloading your files every day, and you're earning thousands of dollars a month from us and making no sales, your traffic is extremely suspicious and we will investigate and review your account manually.
