He was talking about the attractive rate of downloader and uploader.
Better Affiliate Programs will attract more uploader but it doesn't mean it will attract more downloader.

Hint's
The reason katz.cd force poster to use Rapidshare or Megaupload to be primary link because most downloader PICK it. (Not the Uploader)
I upload the same file to RS + MU + FS. (I submit to majority ddl site and forum with only FS link)
I get 2000+ download per day from RS+MU.
But only 300+ from FS.
As far as I know Downloader are far more important than Uploader.


File Hosting Company usually earn more from downloader instead of uploader.
It's recommended for Filefactory to concern at the service for downloader. (Made them pick you)

Hints "again"
The most being concern by downloader were download speed.
The second most being concern by downloader were delay time between next download.
Captcha doesn't an issue which cause downloader not to PICK the particular file hosting company.
Even there is waiting time plus captcha like MU, downloader still pick them at first instead of RS.
Reason:
MU download speed are really incredible fast. (800kb/s~5MB/s)
Delay time between next download were extremely low.

Writing this kind of suggestion was just like "a piece of cake".
I suggest file-factory to made a proper plan to deal with bot before launching the new rewards program.
(To reduce or prevent Affiliate Programs abuser) [eg: automate download]

you are not completely wrong, but almost 90% wrong. just take the example of mediafire. they have been here for a very long time, provide the highest download speeds to even free downloaders, no waiting time, etc but still they are not much popular because, they dont have anything for the uploaders. hotfile became this much popular only because of their rewards program.

people will buy premium only if they think they can get whatever they want from that host and it is possible only if more and more people upload in it.

but if they support downloaders also, then their rate of growth will be higher

Read again, you miss out something.
I'm talking about the downloader. (not uploader)
Please do not make unnecessary reply, if you don't really get it.

Medifire have high rate of crc error regarding the RAR file.
You can try to upload one hunderd of 100mb rar file and experience the error rate. (These were another reason why most uploader don't choose it)

Hotfile popular?
Yes, during 2007~2009 but NO for now.
They were popular because they are the one who have best payout during 2007. (Not much competitor)
(uploader began to like it, downloader force to download from them since uploader don't provide mirror)
For now, check it out there is tons of rewards program which are far more better than Hotfile.
As you can see number of mirror in every post made my uploader are keep increasing. (More and more competitor exist)

almost 95% of a filehost's income comes from premium sales only

@ffs, the new rewards system rocks, am gonna start using FF from now onwards !

btw its mentioned "Premium downloads are counted as one file per each unique IP every 24 hours. So a Premium user downloading two different files on the same IP will count as one download."

it would have been better if it counted all downloads.

also another reward system to choose with 60% premium sales without paying for downloads would have been good too. coz i was thinking of uploading files which people would actually buy premium to get them for instead of download them for free!

hey, am not complaining.. the new rewards system is pretty good..

 

You still need to be a premium member to request payment~ that is no good considering all the other file hosting sites do not require it
Also, the $30 - for files with 1GB (not sure but i think basic members can only upload 400mb files)

 

@above - megaupload also require premium to request payout - but i hope this aint true for FF??? @ffs
also main page upload = 2GB

 

you don't need to be Premium still, we just haven't updated the page yet. We'll do it in a few hours.
