    how does this work? im sorry but im new to this. I have a shared hosting account with someone else. how do i offload the balance to yours?

    There are a few ways people use the service:
    1) static content, such as images, CSS, js
    2) file downloads
    3) video streaming/files

    You create a subdomain called whatever you want, ex. static.domain.com and point it to your dedicated cloud IP. You can then reference the files on your website like:
    static.domain.com/images/wallpaper01.jpg
    videos.domain.com/myvideo.flv
    files.domain.com/myprogram.zip

    By loading the files from your subdomain, which is pointed to our file hosting cloud. The load is no longer on your servers for those files but it still appears with your domain name in the URL as a subdomain.

    can this be done in cPanel? my domain is hosted in a cPanel if i created a subdomain there can i point it to the dedicated cloud ip?

    Yes it can be done in cPanel

    Steps

    1. Click on DNS Functions, on the main screen of your WebHost Manager interface.
    2. Click on Add A DNS Zone
    3. Enter the name of the subdomain you want (ex. static) & enter the IP address of your cloud IP.
    4. Click on Do It.
