I am having a problem while verifying my site smsbucket.com in Google webmaster tools.

I choose the option "Upload an HTML File" and have uploaded the file.. When I click "Verify" Google verifies the site successfully and say

    You've successfully verified http://www.smsbucket.com/.

But when I check anything like "Top Search Queries, Statistics, Links...etc" it again says that your site is not verified, please verify the site to access these features :confused:

What is going on?? Please suggest me what should I do?

    Thanks

Edit: By mistake I wrote FILE in the title instead of SITE, if any MOD is reading this please correct the topic.

I once had the same problem. I posted it in google webmaster groups to get some help, but before any reply to my question, the problem was itself solved. I guess some times this kind of problem occur in webmaster tools. I suggest you wait for a day and hopefully the problem will be solved.

Same here. I had that problem once. I went back a week later to do the same and it worked like a charm. Something is screwed up there on their site from time to time.

It might be a local cache issues in your browser, try clearing your browser cashe first..
However, Google webmasters tools shows some unusual behaviors.. most of the time you could simply wait and it will be solved automatically.

I had a problem like yours before. I trÅŸed to add meta tag and worked fine for me. After your site is verified it will show you the datas without a delay. Try the meta

I have tried verifying the site several times but no luck :(

    It is saying

    Verification status: NOT VERIFIED
Last attempt Oct 4, 2008: We couldn't find the verification meta tag.

Why it is only looking for meta tag when I am choosing the UPLOAD HTML File method, the index file is php file and I don't know where and how to insert the meta tag in there that's why I am not disturbing it and choosing the file upload method.

I will try few more times if it accepts it then OK otherwise I will leave it

I don't know what script your are using but if it's using a theme go to your theme and look if there is a header.php or header.tpl

In most scripts you can find the meta tags in one of your theme files.
