When it comes to Affiliate Programs, File Sharing sites are at the top(use to be) now it seems that they are dying as soon as they become live. Now, there are even sites and people that sole reason is destroy these types of sites by cutting off their Payment Processing Method. Yes, this includes PayPal, AlertPay/Payza and other big names.

File Sharing sites usually pays their uploaders/affiliates $XX/1000 downloads, which most of the time uploaders will upload files that are popular, illegal, nasty, and files that are copyrighted just to get more people to click and download from their links. However anyone looks at it, it is totally illegal, but no one will want to download, or even become a premium member at a site that is offering something they can download for free.

    Who's Fault Is It?
I personally believe it is the "Owner" of the site, and the Uploaders fault... Owners needs to start taking control of their sites, some new file sharing sites can gross thousands of dollars in one day by new premiums sold and advertisements. So why can't they have someone to create a simple script/plugin that will scan file names that have certain words in the file name before the upload is completed?

Its not only the "Owners" of the sites either, Uploaders can make a lot of money with File Sharing sites, but why upload something that will potentially destroy a business that you seem to love. I even read new File Sharing sites threads trying to get people to upload their own content and share, the first thing people ask is... "Do you accept porn?" I remember one owner said "No" and the uploaders got upset and told the owner that he wasn't serious about his business then.

That is crazy to begin with, because PayPal doesn't allow anything dealing with porn so if you have porn on your website then you can not use them as a payment processor(some websites get away with this). Also, when owners accept porn to be uploaded on their websites, then that site will start getting hit with "child porn" which is illegal and nasty.

This is one of the reasons why File Sharing sites are dying because of illegal content uploaded, and content not being viewed by staff and deleted. In one day thousands of uploads can be uploaded on a File Sharing site, in one day you can receive hundreds DMCA complaints and removal of property. Most File Sharing owners will try to verify that the file is actually that persons/company that contacted them, instead of just going ahead and removing the file.

I have also read about uploaders losing their earning because their files went against the site's T.O.S. A lot of people get mad and start screaming "SCAM SITE, SCAM DON"T JOIN" but it was them that uploaded something that illegal or that went against everything that site stands for.

I was reading on StopFileLockers.com where they said DropBox is legal, but DropBox does the same as File Sharing sites, just doesn't have the earning system in place. You sign up and upload your files that you can share to friends and other people. You can even upload copyrighted content and illegal content, you can share these files before staff can even catch/remove these files from their servers.

    What Can Be Done?
    Owners
There is a lot that can be done so that File Sharing sites still exist in the future. It mainly starts and ends with the Owner.

It is very important if you are building a File Sharing site that you contact PayPal first and ask them what they need from you to keep your site operating and not getting your account terminated or limited. PayPal has a policy that if you want them to process payments on your File Sharing site you need to get the site per-approved first.

It is also important to keep all records of who uploaded a file, and what time that file was uploaded. You should also have proof that you deleted illegal and copyrighted files from your server and it can no longer be downloaded from a certain link.

Owners need to hire people that can go through files database and check to see which files are allowed and which ones aren't. Also start banning or suspending Uploaders by IP addresses.

If you accept porn on your website, look to see what kind of porn is uploaded on it... There is nasty people out there and some people that will just name a legit porn scene with the keywords "child, or children" in it because there is people who downloads this type of stuff. This type of stuff should have the uploader ban, and if possible hold charges against this people.

Last thing Owner's need to do is stop the $XX/1000 downloads earning system(if you don't have staff to review files) and just have an affiliate program for premium accounts. You will still get great traffic and premium sales, you may even get rid of those that are destroy File Sharing rep.

It is the job of the Owner to take control of their websites.

    Uploaders
These people see $XX/1000 downloads and they already know to get this money that is stated, they need to start uploading something that people really want, that they can't get for free. This is the main reason why File Sharing sites are dying, because uploaders do not want to upload stuff that isn't their own or free to share.

It is the same Uploaders, that are screaming "scam or what happen to my uploads." I have even seen people state, "why did I get ban?" Those are the same people that are destroying File Sharing sites. Now don't get me wrong some of these sites are pure scams, and some are just really serious about their rules and TOS.

Uploaders need to see that File Sharing sites that say they accept porn... WILL FAIL!!!

This is just a thought because I have seen a lot of File Sharing sites be born and die within a week... Plus there is sites that are only to destroy File Sharing sites, so if we want our File Sharing site to continue to exist something needs to change.
