I think I will sell my file hosting site, which i recently bought from someone else.

What is the site?
The site lets everyone upload their files and share the download link. Most people use it for mp3's and albums which then get posted on various music boards.

Why am I selling it?
Frankly: i don't have the time needed for to this site. Because it needs some promotion to generate a steady revenue. And since I'm a student, university work is probably a bit more important to me then this site.

Ok, give me the stats:
The site gets around 80'000 unique visitors per month
Those generate 184'000 ad impressions

Revenue Stats
The site made $274,98 this month, with an average of $9,48 per day.
The best day was: $16.38
I never really tried CPM based ads because I didn't find any good ones. But this might be a really good source of income for someone who knows the tricks with CPM based systems as the click-rate is not very spectacular.

Expenses:
As this is a file hosting site you will need a dedicated server for hosting. Meaning you will pay around $80 - $149 per month for the server. Its currently hosted on a 10 MBs server in Romania, which means you can also host "not so legal" stuff there. But I can help you with finding a new server. I would recommend the 100 MBs Unmetered by FCD Servers for $149 a month. Since the site generates around 2'000 GB of Bandwidth a month.

The current server is costing 95,20 euros a month. It has been payed until 07.12.2007. If my reserve is met, I will pay for another month of hosting to get you started.

Bonuses:
When I bought this site the owner gave me two other domains along with it. They are: www.newmixes.net (getnewmixes.com) and www.experthit.com Both of them are sites for music and dj mixes. I didn't really touche those two sites because I didn't have the time. However they generate 262'661 visitors this month, so i'm sure there is some profit for anyone willing to to put some ads on there. If my reserve is met, the new owner will have full control over them aswell.

All from link exchange of the previous owner plus some of my own sites. Your free to with them whatever you want. I haven't checked all the links for proper backlinking but I do know that some sites host their files on the server.

I didn't purchase any links, I dont know about the previous owner. Little organic traffic is because its a file hosting site. Most people visit to download what others upload. (Direct linking)

I deactivated my ads channels for that site that day to measure which ads get the most clicks. somehow google counted the impressions double that day. (domain channel and ads channel)

I was until everything I had uploaded stopped working for some reason. Press download and it takes you to random code. For example:

thats because the webspace maximum was reached, meaning the server has some troubles. Its currently at 34 GB of 30 GB space. I might suggest that the new owner will move the site to a new server. As this hoster charges a bit too much for webspace imo.
