I need a script for file uploading like rapid share but I wish to offer huge amounts of space for users I was thinking a total of 500gb each per user free with each file allowed to be a total of 20gb yer lots of space but is there any script out there that would let me do this thought a web browser.

Now also if anyone knows anything about law if is there some way I can take no resposiblity of the files that have been uploaded so if it is say game rips songs videos movies that have coppy right i dont whant to get sued or anything anyway around that (I will remove anything that is flaged or asked to be removed) but I still can moderate everything.

If you host copyrighted material in your server I'm sure it will be considered piracy also it might be good to ask your host about your plans

sorry but you sound WAYY too inexperienced to start a filehosting site. You WON'T be able to host a filehost on Hostgator, you'll need a lot more space and bandwidth. Do some research before you try to jump into it.

Celerondude has a great script (http://www.celerondude.com/php-uploader-v6) although you won't be able to download the latest version on his website... Hostgator doesn't allow file hosting websites although I'm sure you could run it unnoticed on their cheapest plan as long as you wouldn't use too much of their resources!

checkout my signature with mihalism script the creators site is towards the footer of the page
you can set user quota and file extensions, looks like it would work fine for what you said you wanted, its also very easy to install.
