For it or against it? I can tell a great deal about a person based on how they answer the above question.
Im against it. But things happen in contact sports. I get angry with the opposition in soccer. I don't agree with how its openly publicized in the highlights packages.
True. But its not really part of the sport. Boxing is fighting. Just watch that if there so into it. Has anyone ever taken there skates off or hit someone with a hockey stick lol? Im not a big hockey fan because i don't live in the USA, but do find the fights interesting i must admit.
Actually fighting is part of hockey. A lot of people do not realize that it isn't just two guys getting mad at one another. Instead, it's a bit more than that. Fighting in hockey IS actually part of the sport which is why the refs allow a fight to happen. Hockey players fight to police themselves from the dirty stick-work that goes on during the game. It's also a way to attempt to turn the momentum in the game. Usually fights occur between two designated fighters.
Fighting is when two players square off on the ice, they drop their gloves and fight. The refs allow the fight to continue until one player has a marked advantage, or until the fighters get tired, or until either one falls to the ice.
I agree.... although I think the writing is on the wall.... the cancer of modern day wimpy, limp-wristed sports fans are pushing fighting out.
you have to let the guys take out their aggressions if you don't, players will take even more cheap shots against each other and they will get into even more fights as retaliation. -dan
Soccer doesn't need fighting. And its the most popular sport in the world. Someone is going to get seriously injured in hockey soon. Sure they have padding though.
LOL i do have to admit though, i enjoy watching them fight sometimes. Not when its unfair. But when there both facing each other its okay. Especially since the protection gear means no one really gets hurt.
I think it turned into some sort of tradition its been so long. They should have had some sort of regulation in the first place but now after all these years i think they should keep the rules. Just my conservative point of view.
