Both the USA and England started their campaigns with draws. The US were held 2-2 by North Korea and England drew 2-2 with Japan.

    Germany beat Argentina 11-0!

I was suprised to see England draw with Japan. Are Japan a real force in woman's football?
I guess Germany are favorites for the tournament then ;)

I think it's the first time we've played them. I honestly don't know that much about the pecking order in women's football. I know the Germans, inevitably, are good - in fact I think they've beaten us ELEVEN times in succession. The USA and China I believe are the other big names.

I think this is only the 2nd we've qualified for the finals. At least the women don't have the same weight of ridiculous expectation that the men have - no one's expecting them to win.

The US women's team is usually pretty good. This draw to North Korea would be a huge disappointment to the US if anybody here watched women's soccer. I saw the highlights from the game, and the US goalie was just terrible. Blame the rain, but she still was very careless with her goalkeeping.

The Germans won the tournament last time around, and they still have a few players left from the 2003 edition.

I really do not know too much about women's football- so it is a bit of a learning experience :)

    Brazil beat the Kiwis 5-0.
