If you want to start a video upload website you need new technologies such as: ffmpeg, mencoder, mplayer, flvtool2. Anyone knows which hosting providers are the best out there? Cheers
Try www.infrenion.com. I havent used them but they seem good. Further if you have a dedicated server or vps you can install them yourself.
I would imagine you'll need quite a bit of bandwidth for this type of website. If you're in the market for a dedicated server, consider a company like fdcservers.net, pooled.net, or 10tb.com. They all have huge plans.
Yeah I'm looking for a shared hosting plan to start up with. And it's gotta lots of bandwidth and fast loading time. Found this one called hosting-marketers .com . Anyone have any experience with those.
Since you'll actually be using your web space and bandwidth, I would go with a web host that does not oversell. That should remove future complications!
check out www.make-it-yourself.me.uk the site is hosted on a semi-dedicated ( means less people sharing servers) the loads speed of videos is good tech help is good in the past year ive not had not problem if you need more disk space they give it to you no more charges this is the cheapest option for quality i know of check out the link above for more info and to test a video site hosted by them
Here's a list of web hosts who offer ffmpeg hosting plans. Most provide shared, semidedicated and vps plans. Andrew
