Sorry for the heading. I couldn´t come up with the right words for this...

I am wondering about how to get to see my webpage in older verisons of for example IE (IE6-7)?
At home I´ve got IE8 and I´ve heard that things that seems to be okey there isn´t in IE6-7.

I find this link http://browsershots.org/", what kind of link is it?

    Thanx in advance!

browsershots is ok... if you only want a static image of your page, and don't mind waiting around to see it.

I think when you're actively developing a page, you need the real thing right there.

If you have Windows XP you can run something called Tredosoft Multiple IEs, which are IE3-6 which don't share the same DLL files as your current IE, and you can interact with them...
however they use the same Javascript library as your latest IE.

    So on a Virtual Box (a copy of WinXP) I have a native IE7, and Tredosoft IE6, 5.5, 5. I don't test below that.

On another Virtual Box (made by Sun and there's a free version), I have a native IE6 on XP. This will do Flash and Javascript like real IE6.

I have IE8 on another machine. Tredosoft, last I checked, does not work on Vista/7 (unless they've upgraded but XP was hard enough to do).

There's something called "IETester" which I hear only extremely good and extremely bad things about. People seem passionate. As I understand it's also a sort of IE emulator.

IE8 so far as I know can show you IE7 rendering if you turn Compatibility Mode on. Though I've actually never tried it myself.

On at least one of your IE's, you'll want the IE developer toolbar. It's no Firebug but it's better than nothing, and actually helped me figure out where that menu went to.

You can download the IEdevtool @ microsoft.

    I use http://www.spoon.net/browsers/

I can never get IE7 to work, but I always assume if it looks great in IE6 and IE8, it should work in IE7! enjoy
