Fewer long articles or more "blog" style posts?

Which do you prefer? Since I started my blog I've been trying to post only longer articles (800 words+), but I've only been able to post one article per week.

I was wondering, would I be better off instead posting more frequent blog posts? If that were the case, I could post every 1-2 days...

    What do you think?

Is it an actual blog? If so, I'd go with shorter posts. If its a different type of site (IE actual information), I'd go with longer posts with more detail.

    Zach, good question.

Mine vary - some days I will write short blog entries, but other days they will be much longer. If your using Wordpress, you can use the < more > button and snip off part of the blog entry, so that the reader clicks on the more link and it brings up the full post.

This helps with keeping the blog not looking like an essay.

What's with the question, "It is an actual blog?" Blogs are the same thing as websites with content. If people read articles on NY Times.com, why wouldn't they read long articles on a blog?
