    hi,

    1. I have generally seen many people submitting their site on pr4 and pr 5 directories more eagerly than the one with a lower PR. Why would they do it?

Because I think generally the the page thier site would be a PR0 Even if they try for a higher pr...

Then why not prefer PR0..Also they can submit your site faster than other directories...

That's a good question and shows you are thinking hard about it :)

PR 0 is not really 0 it's a float betweeen 0.01. to 0.99.... (I don't know the real decimals that google uses). PR N/A is actual PR 0 !!

People believe that higher PR (homepage) directory's PR0 is higher than lower ones. Also, it means that google 'thinks' directory is good and reliable resource and owners are promoting the directory. So it's natural for people to think submitting to higher PR is better.

Secondly, I agree with you that submitting to 'new' directories (not PR 0 directories) can actually be good because they are more likely to accept the link and some of them may become high PR paid directories, you already got a free link in them.

    hey,
Thanks...I will be starting a directory submission service very soon in DP...So I was kind of asking a few questions...Just like that...

Also, I wanted to ask When people submit to higher PR the page where they link would be is always pr0..SO why not try a site with pr 0...

I like to submit to the new directories because they're like free lottery tickets. They only take a little time and once in a while they pay off big. Take a few minutes every day and add your site to the new directories and in a year you'll see that a lot of them show up in your Google back link profile.

    I agree.

Some turned paid after too so it makes sense to get in early.

Have you ever edited a directory? I suggest you volunteer to do this for a while, since it will open your eyes more than anything to how not to go about making submissions.

I think the higher PR is a good sign that its serps are good so it will have more traffic.

New directories are good because they usually are free and it looks natural when you have some backlinks with low PR

Yes you need a good mix of prs. I would also go for the most relevant category - regardless of PR.
