I have a sports blog, and I do get people coming in and stuff to check it out. I was wondering what is the best way to make money of this? I really want to make serious money none of that BS crap just flat out real stuff. So can someone please tell me and kind of guild me through things by telling me step by step how do make serious money? Thanks.... I love the forum so far.
Hi, Here's my two pennies worth... 1. Content is king. Write unique content on your site as much as possible, this should be your main focus. Try not to just use other peoples work, it won't help with the search engines. 2. Include targeted adsense ads (google adsense for more info) in your posts 3. Take a step back and think what you would look for in a sports site, what would make you come back again and again? 4. Have your site reviewed here and got constructive criticism 5. Participate in forums like this and build back links with good comments on blogs, not just worthless comments that don't help anybody. I'm in the middle of building some new blogs at the moment, it takes time to get content and traffic to your site, work hard and in a year you will see a big difference. Robert
I'll post in on here once, my friend finishes the design he is working on for me. So it can be more attractive to viewers. But thanks so much for commenting, It helped me out....
well since you own a sports blog, and it has the term SPORTS in it, you can sell sports memorabilia or if you have herd the term you need money to make money, you can buy sports tickets, or you can buy cheap memorabilia on craigslist.com or eBay, or if you would like i have a couple sport cards, and what not, so if your interested. well thats about as much as i can think of for a sports blog. also if you need a website for tickets sold for a decent price www.stubhub.com but like i said, if your willing to make money, you should be willing to SPEND money. What about off the Google adSense thing? How do I get more people to click on them so I can get few cents here and there?
Well you can include key words, thats how some people get lots of clicks, just from the keyword, for example if a website had the term porn, it would get lots of hits. The reason being is because lots of people are interested in that specific category. So in your case, you would put names of sport players such as, Kobe Bryant, he is very popular, thus it will catch lots of people's eyes.
I'd advise you to work on what you call each of your titles for each blog entry. Make sure it's a very attractive buzz word. Also, Kobe, LeBron, Wade, Melo, etc. should be said more than 5 times in each blog entry to strike the core key word placement.
Here is my advice: 1) Narrow down your focus. Pick one sport and concentrate on that 2) Search out other sports blogs and comment on them. Of course all of your comments need to be relevant and add to the discussion. 3) Find sports forums and make comments to posts with a track back link in your sig file. 4) Put up a squidoo lens (free) and fill it with original content about a particular athlete or sport and put links back to your blog. 5) Set up a hub page and do the same thing. 6) Take the posts in your blogs and submit them to article directories. This will get you some long term traffic to your site. I hope this helps!
how about trying using a affiliate program with sports materials and promoting that affiliate program on your blog? a really basic suggestion would be going with: http://www.sportsauthority.com/affiliate/index.jsp Sports authority is a pretty well known sports supplier in the us, or you can deal with something more focused around the sport/s you're talking about. Anyways just look around, find something that'll fit and get to promoting
Sports should be an easy topic for finding forums/blogs to post/comment to. For making money, you could add sports-related clickbank products, like a vertical leap ebook. Adsense would be nice too but I wouldn't expect much from it. Free things are always easy to make money with: "sign up for this free ebook! Just enter your email address!" and then you get paid $1 or $1.5 when they submit their information. You will need to join CPA networks to learn how that works (MaxBounty, NeverBlueAds, Azoogle, etc.). They offer both incentive and non-incentive ads. I have one site that makes about $500 a month just with a free sign up. I make $1 for each email and the visitor gets my free ebook. This type of setup is called "incentive-approved" meaning you can squeeze your visitor for their information in exchange for your free product.
My free advice: check out "The BIG Wordpress Thread" in my signature, it's a good start for newbies like you.
