Hi all, I want to clarify few questions regarding forum signatures. 1. Do the forum signature links help in getting good PR? 2. Are they counted as backlinks? If anyone of you know something about it, please share.
1. Yes, if the threads in which you participate get high PR. (unless the forum applies a nofollow tag to your signature links.) 2. Yep. They are counted as backlinks.
how can u know if the forum applies a nofollow tag? What about this DP forum? does it uses nofollow tag?
DP signatures are do follow links and hence they will help you in getting a better PR and the backlinks are counted. That's another point why people are posting busily in DP
They do help, but I think they help only to a certain extent. Because all the links are from the same domain I saw one guy on here whos signature was nofollow. he has about 3 links in his signature but the "webmaster forum" link was the only nofollow one. Make sense to you ?!?
wow, I didn't know that I was thinking that forum signatures doesn't help much. I am glad I am a member here and can get some benefit from being here.
View the page source and see if there is a "nofollow" in the href tag for the link. In Firefox, it's even easier, click and drag highlight the link and immediately surrounding text, then right-click on the selected text and click View Selection source... It will show the same page source code ,BUT ALSO highlight the source of the highlighted text, making it easier to find.
Yes, as we know that backlinks is the major factor in getting pagerank. True. Forum signature counted as backlinks that will also help your keyword to rank.
