    FEW BASIC SEO PRINCIPLES

    1. Use keywords for your file names. [Example: keyword.html]
    2. Avoid automatic submissions to the top search engines
    3. Use your keyword in your page title.
    4. Get your page linked from other sites
    5. Avoid using Java & frames in your pages
    6. Use your keywords 2 - 4 times in the first 250 words of your body text
    7. Do not use Meta refresh command.
    8. No text that is the same color as background
    9. Use links that contain your keywords.
    10. You can use your keyword in the image alt tag.
    11. Use your keywords in plural
    12. Keep meta tag descrption to less than 20 words
    13. Keep meta tag keyword list less than 500 characters

    1. Keyword in Title tag - close to beginning (Niche Keyword research through Keyword tools like Wordtracker, Overture)
Title tag 10 - 50 characters, no special characters
The Florida Update EVEN penalized for this,
as part of the OOP. That was absurd, but effective.

    2. Keyword in description meta tag
Shows theme - less than 200 chars.
(Was part of Google Florida OOP)
Google no longer relies upon this tag, but frequently uses it.

    3. Keyword in keyword metatag (Listed comma-separated keywords in the keywords meta tag )
Shows theme - less than 10 words.
(Was part of Google Florida OOP)
Every word in this tag MUST appear somewhere in the body.
If not, it will be penalized for irrelevance.
NO single word should appear more than twice.
If not, it is considered spam. Google purportedly no longer values this tag, but others

    4. Keyword in H1, H2 and H3
    Use H1 font style
(Was part of Google Florida OOP)

    5. Keyword density in body text 10% - (all keywords/ total words)
Some report topic sensitivity - the keyword spamming threshold varies with the topic?
    1 - 6% - (each keyword/ total words)6. Individual keyword density

    7. Keyword font size
    In strong, bold, italic, etc.

    8. Keyword proximity (for 2+ keywords)

    9. Adjacent is best

    10. Keyword phrase order

    11. Keyword prominence (how early in page/tag)
Most important at top of page, in bold, in large font

    12. Developed keyword rich body text. At least 250 words

    13. Added descriptive ALT text to all images. Specified image height and width for all images. Used descriptive text and keywords within all hyperlinks

    14. Provided static HTML links to all pages on your website

    15. Placed keyword-rich copy in the top half of your page
    SEMrush
    16. Used bold font and italics to format important text

    17. Minimised amount of code on the page - stored JavaScript in an external file

    18. Ensured that your pages are easy to read, to find and to navigate

    19. Used keywords in your URL, subdomains and file names

    20. Drafted a link development plan

    21. Keyword Stemming, stem your keywords. Use singular, plural, past forms, etc.

    22. Keyword Semantics — Make use of synonyms and don’t spam your site with one and the same keyword.

    23. Google/Yahoo Sitemap Submission [Depends on strategy]

    24. Checking Broken Links and W3C validation (Validation Every site should validate, or get as near to it as is feasible)

    25. Internal Linking (Linking other pages of our website through particular targeted keywords for easy navigation and letting spiders to crawl)

Dear When someone does not leave a source/credentials then it is like their own copy.

By the way why do you think people leave a source or credentials at the bottom of an article which is copied from someone else?

Is meta refresh damaging to SERP's?

I use that when a user ranks an article 1-10 but the search engines will not look at that page as it is only user activated by clicking 'vote'. However I don't want a chance of any negative effects.

    1. Use keywords for your file names. [Example: keyword.html]

    3. Use your keyword in your page title.

1 and 3 are the most important tip.
