I am not Chinese (nor eastern), not Buddhist, however i do believe in feng shui and can say with full confidence that if u do everything in according to the rules (and it's not very simple, not really like u see the books "feng shui in 10 minutes"), it does help tremendously.
feng shui is a form of discipline if my memory serves me correctly. it exists, not really something we can believe in or not.
Does it work? Any positive changes in your life? A friend of mine redesigned his whole apartment last year and it was his luckiest year... I'm thinking about getting into it.
My mom is a big fans of it. She even changed my name when i was 13 for because a feng shui master said it will benefit me. And that's one big reason that i don't get along with her, do you think that's luck?
I've never tried it before.... do you know of any resources that are great for beginners ? I keep hearing about this! Maybe it's worth the time to check it out!
I believe by relocating you house and rearranging you furniture can change a person's energy level and emotion, (a study found high ceiling can improve creativity) but i don't think it will bring extra luck. I smashed a few buddha one time i was arguing with my mom, nothing bad happened to me
.... my room is so empty though! Getting rid of clutter is somewhat feng shui ? I don't completely understand the concept
Feng shui is the ancient Chinese practice of placement and arrangement of space to achieve harmony with the environment. However, many people (like my mom) take it too seriously and keep paying those "feng shui master" money to fool us
I read about it and wanted to give it a go but all the Chinese terms and directions got me confused...
am not a big beliver in that, but then i have small feng shui products at home, perhaps just for fun or may be it acts as showpiece
I guess even if you don't believe in the energy side of things i can still see how it might work for you... All the greenery, clean house, fresh air, candles and various good looking things will chill you out and make you feel more positive...
I don't know much about it personally, but a friend of ours has recently renovated a large house to be used as student accommodation for Chinese students studying at University here in Australia. She has layed it all out in Feng Shui style. She lived for some time in Hong Kong, and has an adopted Chinese daughter, so knows quite a bit about Chinese traditions. The Chinese students now living in her house seem pleased and happy with it, so it works for them. As with a lot of things, I think belief in something having a particular effect is possibly a large part of the success of these kind of things... so if you believe it will be of benefit and bring harmony, it most likey will.
i only started using feng shui after doing a freelance job for a feng shui company...so i decided to try it out since i would have access to all the resources and the knowledgeable in that area. i am just taking baby steps but things just seem to be getting better for me check out the feng shui site: Feng Shui
