Here's a video (about 45 minutes) that sums it up very well, I think. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eaE98w1KZ-c Normally, I wouldn't post a video link. But I think the points raised are quite valid. Inspires thought, if nothing else.
Iran on Thursday released a second letter purportedly by the only female member of the crew, Faye Turney, in which she again said her patrol had "entered into Iranian waters." Britain reacted angrily to what it said was blatant propaganda, labeling the note's release "outrageous and cruel." INTERNATIONAL PRESSURE Both letters from Turney, a 26-year-old mother and wife from south-west England, were in stilted English, leading some linguistic experts to suggest the text may have been written originally in Farsi and translated into English. this is why i say, there is no place in the uk armed forces for women to be in the front line, the men would have fought if it was not for the fact she was there. they gave up to ensure a mother could go home to her daughter alive.
Only a matter of time until this "resolves" itself - the danger is that if you watch AJ (Or even their website - not that I am suggesting supporting them in any way) it looks like the popular Arabic press is spinning this in a "we can't back down" way. Nostraview: West backs down, again.
If this excuse is plausible the UK's education system must be a lot better than the United States' Of course, it doesn't really matter much what captives say anyway. (A point I've been trying to convince some people of for a while now).
Lorien I'm about to watch it. Although I must say, I don't think that the disgust in Liberalism is a good thing. The definition of Liberalism: I wouldn't consider myself a Liberal by political label, but I am in some way liberal if that makes sense. What's wrong with caring for individual liberty? Also I think that this: Is a good thing. Although utilitarian, favouring the masses first seems logical to me. The above quote mentions the indiscrimination, that's a good thing. What would you say that the difference between Libertarianism and Liberalism is. I've just watched about 4 minutes of this, and the person speaking seems to immensely generalise everything with his metaphor. Liberals don't hate America, they oppose the right. They didn't think America deserved 9/11 that's ludicrous. I also laughed at the part where he said: "How can you live in the freeist nation in the history of the world" Errr I can tell he's not a historian. For one, Holland is more free than America and most other countries. The most free country is going to be one self governed by Eskimos. Watching more into, I'm getting nothing but arrogance from this man. How can he say America is the most non-bigoted, non-racist and the 'freeist'? How can he say the Democrats are wrong about EVERYTHING? The fact is, there is no such thing as right or wrong. The basis of society's laws have been set by Christianity (In western countries), so if you're not religious... And when he states ranting on about Liberals siding with "evil" over "good" why does he avoid a balanced argument? Oh, 'cause everything is as black and white as Israel being the tiny, "wonderful" (as he puts it), democratic state and the Palestinians being the "evil" who attack Israel. If it was this simple, why haven't the Palestinians wiped out Israel? He fails to balance the argument by mentioning that although Israel is small, they have a massive and technologically cutting edge Arsenal. I've watched 10mins or so and up until then I could tolerate his arrogance and total bias. But when he started slating John Lennon and his song "Imagine", which was just a f*cking song to contrast all the bad things and to get people to think. But no, this guy likes to twist it, and say that the song reflects the Liberals' aims of destroying religion and countries... oh pleaaaaaaaase....
I found an interesting article in the telegraph on this subject check it out. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2007/03/30/wiran730.xml
shes also from the UK... I think the female is a bargaining issue for the moolahs. They think the UK might want her back more, since she has a baby at home...
It's part of the propaganda. They know that the West regards women in higher esteem then they do and are hoping to sway the West by focusing on her. Classic technique, though they are screwing it up like a free lunch. About the only people left still supporting Iran's illegal kidnapping and parading them about and publishing fake admission letters is AGS (who sold his country out) and Briant (all purpose sellout).
She looks as rough as a badgers arse mate but I don't think she is a shape shifting illuminati lizard, whatever that is.
only an asshole can turn something appalling, into something sexual. you are a fuckin asshole ya sick bastard
Oh come on, AGS. Don't be coy. Don't cherry pick Icke's beliefs. Either you believe his wild conspiracy theories or you don't. Don't pick and choose the most pallatable ones and hold those dear, while ignoring the insanity from which they come. Embrace the shape shifting lizard people. Icke does. You can too.
and have a last supper with him too, he claims to be jesus after all. thats what i'm waiting form AGS, a claim he is Mohamed or something.
How about the Iranian diplomats that were taken hostage in Iraq couple month ago by U.S and no one know where they are neither can any officials get in contact with them.... Whether the British soldiers were in Iran or not, Iran wanted to make a statement and sort of a retaliation for those captured in Iraq (and of course defer attentions from the new U.N resolution passed against it).
The amazing thing is that people will say that they (US/UK) are in Iraq at the request of the Iraqi govenment as if the Iraqi government were an independent entity, then say things like the Iraqis cannot detemine what diplomatic envoys are allowed in their country
