Hi all, I've started a new blog about art and found feedburner in my settings. Does anyone know if that will effect my blog if i "burn" it? Im not sure what burning my blog does. It says it pulls it to a rss feed? Any help would be great.
It improved your RSS feed compatibility and gives you more information about your subscribers. A good thing, overall. Try it out.
I am not sure if I have understood your question correctly but are you asking why and how you can convert your blog url example.com/feed/ to feeds.feedurner.com/example ? If it is that its very easy. Just add the following code to your header file. And don't get forget to add the huge ping list as well. As far as burning is concerned, relax, it just converting normal feed to feedburner feed. It is still rss feed, just feedburner starts tracking it. If you still have problem feel free to PM me.
using feedburner u can track no. of subscribers...get codes to customize subscription links i mean subscibe in bloglines,google..all those widgets... follow tricks in above post by poseidon
Its pretty simple actually. Having feedburner is like having an online voting result. An example, if there are 2 blog with similar topic, which one would you prefer to hang out much often? The one with 1 subscriber or the one with 100 subscriber? As for me it also a good sign for me to monitor my reader pattern. You will see a decrease in subscriber if your blog does not have good quality post and etc. There's plenty more of advantage so just Google around for it. By the way as a word of advice do not show your feedburner stat if your subscriber number is still low. Just provide your visitor the sign up link, form or button first. After your subscriber has grow to a steady number then only you show it off on your blog. again, this is just a psychological strategy. Cheers! Sha
