I started out here on May 4th - http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=826615 Then, last night, I decided to try again. I answered my question in the previous thread listed above. I was NOWHERE near getting it right. I didn't do what I was supposed to, because Feedburner had given me NO CLUE about what to do. After 5 hours, at 3AM. I gave up. I wanted to put a sledge hammer through my monitor. 1. The directions didn't work, because they WEREN'T directions. They were a nebulous discussion of what had to be done. They discussed what had to be done, but did not tell me WHAT TO DO! 2. Did it ever occur to Feedburner to create a 1-2-3 list? 1. Do this, then 2. Do this, then 3. Do this. There are 2 reasons why they might not have done this. 1. They are inept, or 2. It CANNOT BE DONE. I suspect #2 is the case. 3. The diagrams were simplistic, and did not even include the htaccess file, which was a critical part of the process. Nor was the ORDER of implementation discussed. I am sure this is critical. 4. I actually had it working at one point, but when I created the new "fb-feedsource", as I was told to do, everything quickly went down hill. 5. "Just" point your feed name to the new private feed you have just created. How? HOW? HOW? 6. When trying to burn my "New private feed", as suggested, I get "This feed is already taken". DUH. IT'S MY FEED! 7. They referred me to an "in-depth" forum post, which was supposed to explain everything - 7 pages of geek talk. "This is all you have to do". I am just an HTML plodder, not a programmer, and I had precious little idea of what they were talking about. SEVEN PAGES OF GOBBLEDYGOOK! "This is all you have to do". Clarification? SEVEN PAGES OF POSTS? Are you freaking kidding me? 8. Nothing I did worked. I did my htaccess file over and over again, to no avail. I renamed my new feed over and over again, to no avail. 9. They constantly referred to "WordPress", "Blogger", and other special platforms, but never mentioned simple hand-made HTML pages, such as I am using. 10. Finally, they refer you to the "Feedburner Forum", which has been CLOSED. Which means that it is no longer a forum! Hello? Then, they state that the "Feedburner Forum" will soon DISAPPEAR! Oh, that's helpful. 11. And the navigation is non-existent. You simply CAN'T get there from here. TERRIBLE navigation. 12. Google has some big problems here, if they ever want this to go mainstream. NOTHING WORKS. 13. At 3 AM, I reverted back to my original home-brewed feed, which has been working fine for months - http://www.vaughns-1-pagers.com/vaughns-summaries.rss.xml 14. What is the point of trying to get feed stats with Feedburner, if Feedburner CAN'T be made to work? 15. I was a hardware Tech Writer for 10 years. Never have I seen such poor documentation. NOTHING is worth this level of frustration, even if they are giving away pieces of gold with it. To he|| with the specs - my simple implementation WORKS! I will live without knowing the stats. Deep breath. AHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhh. I feel much better now. G0D, do I love DigitalPoint. Do you think that I was piffed? Hee-hee. Yes. OK. Come at me now. Am I just a d@mned idiot? It won't be the first time that someone has said that. . .
First of all in the feedburner stats section when you go to view the stats there is a list box/pull down menu above the graph. Have you tried choosing "all time" from that menu? That will show you the all time stats for you feed. Secondly if it still doesn't work you can ask at the feedburner forums. They moved the forums to a google group: http://groups.google.com/group/feedburner
