Hi guys-- I'm a long time reader, first time poster. My buddy who runs a mortgage bank just got someone to redo his website. The old site can be found at http://www.e-loanhome.com/ and the new site design can be found at http://www.1st2ndmortgage.com/1st2nddirect/. (My apologies, since I am a new user, I don't have the ability to do live links.) Although I'm not a designer, I gave my friend some advice on how the two compare. However, he doesn't agree with my opinion and asked if I could get him feedback from other people. What do you guys think? Thx.
JMHO, but I'd have to agree w/Gatorade. Though the first site is cool, the second one is definitely a better site all around even with it being more graphics intensive. -d
Pictures sell, the secound one is better in my opinion. Colors are better in the secound one too. coments on the second one: 1) The logo can be improved, looks a bit amateur and is not in tune with the rest of the site. 2) The expandable menues are someway leaving a semi transparent white fog in the principal picture in the vertical area they display... can't post a screenshot, but let me know if you don't see it and I'll PM one. Not sure if this is intended, but I liked the "call to action" elements in the old site, "Call now", "Send us your quesitons" and stuff like that, if used moderatelly I think help a lot make people act. Hope it helps!
The older site [http://www.e-loanhome.com/] -- in my opinion, has a more professional look. Which will garner more customers? I am not sure. Q...
Here are your live links: Old New I definitely prefer the newer one, the old one lacks 'pizzaz', and look rather bland. Why do you have pictures of chocolate boxes and football fields on a website about mortgages though?
