Feedback on the elusive "first impression"?

I'm hoping to get some tips and advice from a few DP'ers on the current state of my new website, particularly in regards to how to grab the reader's attention. If most users only spend 15-20 seconds on a site before moving on, I'd like to see what I can do to make it more appealling.

    URL is: http://www.oiopublisher.com/

I've been thinking about getting rid of the sidebar on the front page, to leave more room for bigger and bolder text, but any thoughts you have on how to maximise the space involved would be much appreciated!

    Thanks! :)

Well, I've updated the front page (still a bit of work to do on a couple of linked pages), but I *think* it looks better.

Any comments on how it looks right now, especially regarding the front page?

It looks nice but those buttons with question marks, at least let the colors match the other colors.

Look very nice. It's clean and makes me want to read into it.
