Hi, I'm a newbie at browser languages beyond html but I'm good at teaching myself and learning through playing with other people's scripts. My problem is I've been looking through the web for a form that takes text typed into an input box and posts it on the same page in which it was entered, time stamped with most recent at the top. Something like the comment section of facebook, or a product review page, but more simple. I'm posting about this here because I was told script wasn't enough, that I would need to store the posts with something such as PHP. I'm not having much luck finding anything for sending posts back onto my page. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.
I would highly suggest you buy a book regarding the PHP language, and focus on AJAX if you want it to auto-appear. I would say Scriptaculous would do the job for what you need- try Googling it after you have the basics of PHP down.
