feedback about spammers and scammers

ok, so there have been some new rule changes over the last few weeks, since then i have been conned two time by crooks on DP and this is going to get worse.

case1. guy pm'd me to say he had a link for sale.... did some checks and it looked ok. bought link and guess what no link goes up.... becuase he pm'd me there is no thread to report any violation, no way to give bad itrader either as there is no thread for the deal.

this is bad news. by the time paypal looks into this he'll be long gone.

case2. bought a service from a member that looked legit,had been on dp for some time with good itreader. service bought and no communication, nothing, no confirmations, and other member soon reports similar problems. i pm'd, emailed, went through his website direct ... nothing,,, he';s just taking money and not completing orders......so I wrote on the thread for a mod to close the thread so no one else gets stung... no reponse. next day.... reported the thread with description of what occured.... and rated the thread negatively, and gave negative itrader....no reponse from mod....

reported thread again today.... is anyone going to do anything???

if mods dont protect the buyers then DP will get a BAD reputation. there are other sites that are coming up the ranks like sitepoint marketplace which has a wealth of info for webmasters and buyers.

I have never had a problem using sitepoint. I love DP, its true but digital point needs some new rules for the mods to get tough on scammers. i'd like to know why theres been so little mod acitvity on the thread from the mods.

Unfortunately, the moderators do not get involved in personal business, nor can we verify the validity of each offer presented. It's up to each and every member to do their own due diligence when buying or selling products or services on Digital Point.

The mods are here to help keep things civil, and to minimize abuse, but we can't (and won't) police every deal that goes on in the forums. As a community, it's up to the members to provide their own feedback through reviews in threads, and by using the itrader and reputation systems.

 

You do business here at your own risk. iTrader is not a be all and end all. And if you're getting commercial PMs not related to a request you made in a thread or something, it's technically spam, so you certainly should be skeptical about entering into a deal. Your options are to leave negative iTrader or a review in the deal thread if one exists - that's it. Anything else is for you to take up with the other party privately.
