I know if you are going to start an online business you should go with paid hosting but are there any reliable free hosting out there without any ads? I know one byethost but I have done some research on them and the reviews are not so good. Just wondering if anyone knows any reliable free hosting?..
No body will offer you free hosting. If somebody is offering, they may expect something from you. It is always best to go for a paid and cheap webhosting. I prefer 3ix.org ($1 per month)

Free hosting services usually require you to show some of their ads on your pages, also you have limited bandwidth.... go for paid if you're serious.

Pay for web hosting and get decent service. Free hosting comes with pitfalls. There is actually no free lunch.
Always go for paid hosting. Most hosting companies will give you ad coupons for AdWords, Bing, Facebook worth $100+ (e.g. Hostgator), so you have an instant return if you were planing on buying advertising.

you might as well just create a blog with wordpress or blogspot. those are free but free hosting is not good
Try 000webhost.com but don't stay too long on there and establish yourself because it's so freakin' slow. I don't like that. Whenever I use them, it's simply to test out the functionality of a script or a link for example. But don't put your business on there. Go with paid hosting as soon as you can.

I haven't had very good luck with free hosts. Even if there aren't ads I encounter other problems. If you end up using a good one, let us know!
