The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has expressed great interest in an a G.P.S. , Electronic I.D. bracelet for all commercial airline passengers. The bracelet would also serve as a stun device similar to that of a police taser gun, completely immobilizing the wearer when activated, and would be worn by all passengers until they disembark at their destinations.

According to the Washington Times :

    This bracelet would:

    • Take the place of an airline boarding pass

    • Contain personal information about the traveler

    • Be able to monitor the whereabouts of each passenger and his/her luggage

    • Shock the wearer on command, completely immobilizing him/her for several minutes

Yes…You read that right. SHOCK THE WEARER ON COMMAND !

How naive are you? This will never happen. The source of the info is the manufacturer's fluff marketing video.

I can see them contacting someone in the government, who says, "OK. Show me what you have." The rest is marketing spin.

This could be useful, however, for transporting prisoners. I could see some valid applications.

A letter from Paul S. Ruwaldt , Science and Technology Directorate, for the office of Research and Development, at The U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security, (man his business cards must be 2 pages) the government agency is extremely interested in the product, and is awaiting a proposal.

It's not U.S. paranoia ! This is for domestic air travel. It doesn't concern air travel outside the U.S.
We are content to let international flights be open to all hijackers and terrorists.
Unfortunately, it is a different world and we cannot go back the the Ozzie and Harriet days again.

The fact is, there are people in the world that are so desperate and twisted that they want to kill others to prove a political point.

This suggestion is obviously an extreme measure, but, being from Serbia, you should understand wanting to have preventative measures against innocent people being killed.

You may think the U.S. is paranoid, but someone flew 2 planes into a financial skyscraper in New York City, the Pentagon, and were going for more! Those people in the World Trade Center were not Military. They were not a political target. They did not disrespect Islam. They thought they were going home to their families that day.

We are not as used to that as others in the world!
We will do what is necessary to prevent it from happening again.

I hate what the world has become. I wish that i could travel to countries like Iran, and Afganistan, and learn of other cultures and people, but I can't because we don't get along, and there are people there that would kill me and my kids.

There is so much hate in the world, and unfortunately (and maybe some of it is our own doing) the U.S. is the target of most of the worlds hatred. It is the ultimate form of "Player Hating" and blame.
The prejudices that we have in this world against other human beings is extreme.
People want to kill other people because they disagree! It's ridiculous !

We are literally killing ourselves off. If animals started attacking others of the same species in record numbers, we would have scientist from across the globe studying the phenomenon to find out why, but when we do it to ourselves, it is considered normal.
