<begin griping> So I have this customer send back an item that she bought for $49.95 via Fedex. I find out that if the customer fails to check the box on the form for delivery speed, Fedex automatically sends it at the fastest possible rate!!!! I then incurred an $80.15 charge for shipping!!! If I don't complain within 15 days then I have no recourse, which unfortunately I missed the cutoff. My advice: Don't use them! <end griping>
You're right, Fedex should make ground the default and allow customers to upgrade to faster service during shipping if they realize they made a mistake and want it shipped quicker.
Yeah, I never told her to use Fedsux. I always use USPS for the small stuff and UPS for heavier things. <sigh>
All depends if you want to keep the customer or not, but if someone sent a $50 item back to me using $80 postage, they could consider their refund cancelled!
Every time I order something and it gets shipped UPS, the item goes on world tour and arrives weeks later looking like it was repacked four times by somebody with a packing tape fetish and an unnatural hatred for cardboard boxes.
