That's good news for the nation as a whole. Those corporate profits really help a lot. I wouldn't be surprised if the government started helping the media and other entertainment industries earn more.
This is the second year in a row that increased tax revenues have reduced the budget. This good news will upset democrats for sure. If it's good for America, it's bad for them.
Voodoo economics pay off once again! The deficit is still at $250B -- but most of that is the $50B we wasted on Katrina and the cost of defending Western civilization against the Islamists. I'm good with that -- Billions for defense, but not a penny for jizyah!
True, and it was wasted on worthless human beings who decided to waste the money on hookers, big tvs, and anything that would make their "social status" better....look where they are now...
Yeah, let's kill this goose before it lays another golden egg. There is some other bad news for the Dems, the economy hummed along even with 15 interest rate hikes which means if things slow down, 15 rate decrease can happen. The bad new never ends.
Glad to see you guys are patting one another on the back. Here is one description of a more accurate rendition of the budget: http://www.kentucky.com/mld/heraldleader/news/nation/15635865.htm Please note: The commentators on the true state of the budget is the Heritage Foundation, a very Conservative Think Tank. Please note: Another perspective on the budget comes from Goldman Sachs.....no liberal group here....and their comments..... And then of course there is the great political lie that democrats are big spenders and republicans aren't. Hey guys....find a real issue to pat one another on your backs!!!!
Oh sure, sure, spoil the party for everyone! Hey, we're just happy that things are better -- we're not saying that things are perfect.
Regardles of whether or not the tax cuts are working, how about cutting spending? That would reduce the deficit by a ton!
couple of other points. I don't think the $437 billion deficit for the year takes into consideration accrual accounting. that would make it worse!!!!! On top of that w/full employment and heavy profits on high incomes and capital gains that were taxed...and brought in the additional tax income for the year it suggests that the nation is headed for long long long term deficit spending at these levels. Imagine what the deficit would be like w/lower employment and not the corporate tax gains or the gains individuals made early on in the year off of real estate gains. with the real estate market changing doesn't look good for the long term. And when you facotr in the budget deficit off of virtual full employment it points to a national deficit that is growing out of proportion. btw; who holds more and more of our debt? foreign nations. Now that is a financial threat held over our nation's best interests. Well, as Will Spencer said.....its not perfect!!!!
As a Independant I find it kinda funny when Conservatives brag about reducing the deficit when Clinton handed them absolutely no debt and a balanced budget. Im just wondering are you saying that you are just happy to be almost as good as Clinton?
Perhaps multiple choice would make this an easier question: 1. Liberal Democrats 2. Moonbats 3. Young Ignorant White Males with Low IQ's 4. All of the Above answer: 4
Nice...also, if the above math is true about the "real deficit" then that means that Clinton didn't really balance the budget...instead he got a BJ from monica , didn't get osama, and left us with debt....more reason I'm glad im not a liberal.
Clinton did not balance anything, nor did he save/deduce anything. What he did was lower the amount of anticipated expenditures relative to what we normally project we might spend. Some how moonbats, YIWMWLIQ's and liberals interpreted that to a reduction or elimination of the national debt, of which is still growing exponentially. Clinton did give us Janet Reno, and we all know what a wonderful job she did cooking kids, among other things in her spare time.
