I'm thinking of renaming "Featured" to "Sponsors" Because categories like Paid Directory gets a little crowded and people like myself don't like to submit to. Instead of being featured in a category that fits your descriptions of your site, I think you should be able to Sponsor whatever category you want to be place in. So basically if the "Paid Directory" category has 9 Featured plus regular listing, you could skip that category and go to a much lesser category that you would like to be place in, say for example "Arts" even though your site is not even Art related. I think the bigger or longer stablish directories do this already with it's "Sponsor" this page. What do you think? Also, if any of you wishes to be place on any category as "Sponsor" PM wih your details
I have done something like that but it is for top categories only. http://www.szab.net/category-sponsor.php
Hmmm how so? lol... Linking to an unrelated won't have any bad effects to your site, but it won't have any good effects either..
If you look at some of the larger directories that offer Sponsored Listings I think you'll find otherwise; Yahoo directory will only accept Sponsored listings from sites listed within the category they wish to sponsor, @ BOTW, the site must be somewhat related to the category.
GREAT! sign me up to sponcer the closest catagory to the domain.... What? what do you mean i cant add my Plumbing site to Kids and teen? Im paying for it i should be allowed to add where i want! Lol it seems web directories catagory will always be filled no matter what you can think of... i use A-Z catagories which most try to avoid ( like the plaque ) as thier so accustomed to just dropping in paid or Free and having me move later on so i create first and then make the PAID section just that PAID as well as TOP catagory is Paid. But hey...psssst ill let you in on a secret thiers a mod so that they cant add to that upper catagory or any catagory of your choosing. thx malcolm
I was thinking that a directory can have one of it's deep link submitted as sponsors on whatever category, say http://mydir.com/Business/ into the Business category, I think that could work just aswell.
