Hi, My account craigedmonds is set to logging in with Facebook but no longer works. I think its due to the Facebook API changes made recently. If I try and log in with username and password I get the error: Two-Factor Authentication code is incorrect. I have had my craigedmonds account since 2006 and I need to post a logo contest. Please help!!! TIA
Have you recently changed either your browser or a mobile device? A two party authentication alert usually has to do with Facebook not recognizing either. What you might try is: Go to Security and Login Settings then scroll down to Use Third Factor Authentication then click Edit and set it to third factor. Thus you start from scratch with your new authentication, thereby bypassing the old one.
I have changed nothing on Facebook or digital point. I am NOT able to log in as username: craigedmonds to change any settings. Its seems to me that the Facebook app tied to digital point's log in system has been reviewed. Searching online, the error says: If you see the message – Feature unavailable: Facebook Login is currently unavailable for this app after clicking the Facebook login icon, it's due to Facebook's Data Use Checkup that Facebook introduced recently.
Yes it's a little inconvenient as I need to post a logo contest. It's my belief that the 2FA within DP login is tied to the Facebook log in app process. So when I am trying to log in normally, I get the error saying "Two-Factor Authentication code is incorrect." because the Facebook app is not working. So when i am trying to log in, DP log in assumes there is 2FA so brings an error saying its incorrect.. I don't really know who to contact at DP for this. I've removed the two-factor authentication flag from the @craigedmonds account and merged the new account into the old. So you should be sorted. Two-factor authentication has nothing to do with Facebook, you set your account up for two-factor authentication with the Google Authenticator app. Info about that here: https://www.digitalpoint.com/account/security Two-factor authentication isn't a bad thing... unless you forget you set it up or lose the phone/app you set it up with.
Thank you all for your help with this. I am in! At some point I must have added two factor to the DP account and then later used Facebook login, so never actually encountered the two factor after that, and forgot all about it, so yes, my bad and thank you very much for getting this sorted so quickly. I do encourage anyone and everyone to use two factor though. As a thank you, I have bought premium membership now.
