FDA.org

I would appreciate feedback on the estimated value of this domain name.

FDA is an acronym for the Food and Drug Administration.

While a dot com is usually the preferred TLD, because the acronym is world renown and synonymous with a USA government agency, being a dot org has proven to be beneficial because people often think it is the government's official website, instead of dot gov.

Currently, FDA.org is redirected to another domain that I own that is unrelated to food and drugs. I believe, however, that the domain could be extremely valuable to any business or organization serving the food and/or drug industry, both being multi-billion dollar industries. Especially in that these 3 simple letters, FDA, has instant name recognition worldwide.

I have owned FDA.org for some 15 years and now considering selling it. I have had numerous inquiries over the years, and two inquires just this past week. One has not yet replied to my email, and the other has offered $10,000.

Typing in "FDA" in Google's and AOL's search engine will place it is position number 6.

Note: While FDA is an acronym for the Food and Drug Administration, it is NOT a trademark. Under 18 U.S.C. Sec. 709, Congress has provided by specific legislation a limitation on the use of certain acronyms for designated government institutions and "FDA" is not included in that list.

Any comments would be appreciated.

That's a great name with a good extension. Such domains are sold for $$$$ to $$$$$ to the right buyer. Congrats on the 10K offer

 

i've suspected over the last couple of days - but this thread confirms it "India forum" is a spamming postwhore and nothing more.

I suspect his sole intent on this forum is to convince innocent people that their domain is worthless so that they will sell it and he can buy it for nothing.

Anyone else confirm this?

 

OMG That was a typo, I wanted to write $30K, but missed out on the K and didn't notice it.

$10K is a good offer for this domain. I think you should wait for some time and if don't get a better one take the offer. You never know when Fed govt will restrict selling the domain...
