I think the warning will appear when we add too many friends from outside our network. I don't know how many is the limit but it is happening to me sometimes. The best way maybe is to have few accounts with different networks. Then, you can add friends from the same network to prevent the warning from appearing.

I have the same problem. Me thinks it may be a change in Facebook platform to stop wannabe spammers trying to get as many "friends" as they can to message them with "crap". As I say i'm not sure but makes sense to restrict these senseless fools from getting into our profiles.

This is because you have sent too many friends request but they still not accepted you, so facebook thinks that you are doing spam. Press "Report the Problem" and give personal message about your recent activities.

You are seeing that message because you keep on adding friends in a small period of time. It's the facebook way to determine a fraud or not. It's just normal to see this kind of message because every user who add a lot of people for a small period of time is being warned to prevent unnecessary things to happen.

I have been researching this "problem" and it is Facebook's way of clamping down on just adding friends randomly and then spamming there Wall's with offers and not actually contributing anything of real value. The best way to get really targeted friends on your fanpages is to make some useful comment on the wall of a person you want to become friends with and then send them a persona message to say that you really like what they do and that you could learn a lot from them and that way you will get a positive reply and they will become friends. This way you then have a better chance of their fans/friends looking at your stuff.

    Hope this helps

even if you don't have fake accounts, you will still have this problem if you add too many people as friends. Rule of thumb, no more than 50 a day...That should keep you safe.

This sounds to me the most logical explanation. After all, facebook don't want to shoot themselves in the leg! The more subscribers and "friendships" they have the more they're worth. However, they have to take measures against spammers so they configure specific algorithms to try and prevent spamming. Someone who sends out simultaneously a large number of friend requests before being confirmed by anyone does look very much like a spammer.

With more than 350 million monthly active users around the world, Facebook has a lot of users who want to make new friends. And now the company is testing out a feature to make friending a little more meaningful. Once you mark “ignore” on a friend request, you’ll see a new option in addition to being able to report the person for abuse or spam: “Mark that you don’t know” them.

Facebook has never shown friend rejections; rather, the person who made the friend request just never gets a confirmation. Some people don’t seem to get the hint, though, and make multiple friend requests to people they never get friend confirmations from. The new appears to make it so that the recipient can block future requests from the person. Like the long-time option of blocking all application notifications from a friend, it’s another way to reduce the social spam generated by poor etiquette on social networks.

Facebook doesn’t say exactly what happens when somebody gets marked as not known. “Our security team is currently just testing this feature to help inform certain limits on friend requests and combat spam,” a spokesperson told us.

Like a spammy app, it sounds like Facebook has some sort of limit it is testing out on how many friend requests a user can send over a given time. Also, the site is becoming a larger target for automated spam and phishing attacks, and one tactic is for spammers and scammers to set up fake profiles and friend people — this points to another use for the “mark you don’t know.” If used by enough people, it could help alert Facebook to problem profiles early on before they can cause too much damage

several times this appeared to me, I think its normal.... But if you continuously add about 20 people or more, they will block you by adding people for few days.

I think sending invitation for increasing people sign up to Facebook should be alright. However, if add friend/friends that you dinno is a big big "no".

Correct me if I am wrong
