FB 'People You May Know' List and Search Bar Results

    I have two questions:

    1) Are People You May Know people who have search for you, people you have search for or both?

    2) Why do certain people I'm not friends with on FB come up high on my search bar results? For instance, if I type "A", this woman "Anne" who I am not friends with but know who she is comes up? I did view her profile before but I interact and look at other friends profiles with the letter "A" and they are lower or don't come up at all. Why is this?

    Facebook uses an algorithm for suggesting you people in the "people you might know" thing, but its not always accurate.
