Hi, just signed up at CJ and im from AUS. What fax number do i send my W8 form too? I have been givin 818-879-5284 but this doesnt work for me
You need to put 0011 in front of the number. And maybe another 1 before the CJ number. Have a look in the front of the White Pages, it will tell you exactly how to call the USA from AU.
hey, i just tried: 0011-1-818879-5284 and 0011-818879-5284 both say the number has been disconnected do they have an email it can be scanned and sent to? or how much to post from aus? sorry for the completely newbie questions
I live in Australia and didn't need to send in a W8 form. I think it's only needed if you live in the US.
I'm from Aus too and am new to CJ and I find it confusing whether we need to send the form in.. Just did some reading though and it looks like I'll have to fill it out and send it in after all. Anyway, I just wanted to say that you can actually email them the W8 form to them - . Found that in the CJ FAQ for those who want to read more (and the FAQ can strangely be found after you click the Contact Us link not the Help link).
thanks ontheweb, thats awesome.. I will emai lit. Both newbies from Aus eh.. I have experience with clickbank but CJ is a fair bit different
"Submitting the Correct Tax Forms Commission Junction requires all publishers fill out appropriate tax forms. The following forms are required. For US Residents: W9 Form: Request for Taxpayer Identification Number and Certification. For residents of the countries listed below: The W8 Form does not apply. VAT-registered publishers that select these countries must provide their valid Value Added Tax (VAT) number in order to comply with EU tax regulations and ensure proper payment of VAT in the countries where Commission Junction operates (currently France, Germany and the UK). Note: Publishers that are not VAT-registered are not required to provide a VAT number. Austria Belgium Cyprus Czech Republic Denmark Estonia Finland France (under the French umbrella) Germany Greece Hungary Ireland Italy Latvia Liechtenstein Lithuania Luxembourg (under the German umbrella) Malta Netherlands Norway (under the UK umbrella) Poland Portugal Slovakia Slovenia Spain Sweden Switzerland United Kingdom For non-US Residents: W8 Form: Certificate of Foreign Status of Beneficial Owner for United States Tax Withholding. These publishers receive a pop-up message reminding them to submit a W8 Form to Commission Junction. The W8 Form certifies that as a non-US resident, your earnings are not subject to US tax. Without this form, Commission Junction may be required to withhold 30% of a publisher's payments. The New Publisher Sign-up Email that all publishers receive includes the W8 Form as an attachment. Publishers from the United States receive this same email with the W9 Form attached. Publishers must sign these forms, and send them to Commission Junction either by mail or by fax. Commission Junction cannot legally advise regarding filling out these forms; however, we can provide the relevant links to the US Government Internal Revenue Service's official Web site, which includes copies of the forms and instructions for completing these forms." Aus is not in that list so you need to send in your W-8 form before they will pay you i presume.
Australians should send in the W8 - the more I read about it, the more I think it's worth doing (I posted mine last week) - but I think CJ only worry about the W8 form if you're a big fish. Postage was about 90 cents
CJ will pay you without having a W8 on file. BUT I've never had a problem before - as I said I've only recently sent them my W8. Better safe than sorry. It takes about 30 seconds to fill in, and costs 90 cents to post it.
No probs Swerd I've never tried Clickbank because my sites tend to be more "mainstream" so I don't think people would go so much for the electronic/digital products. I've had some very good success with Adsense but am really struggling with CJ (it's only been a few weeks I guess.. but still, I'm impatient and want conversions I just set up Ebay with their Editor Kit and that's helped the CTR, but no one's converting... Still, the Ebay stuff gives me more hope and it's only been up for a day now so we'll see how it goes a week or 2 from now Have you guys had much success yet?
ahh thats right sorry, yeah they may tax you .. not good =D its azoogle that wont pay me without it!!
Do remember that when you email them the form, the form first needs to be printed out, signed by hand, scanned, converted to pdf and then sent to the cj email id..
