    I like Coffeecup pretty well, even their free version does a pretty good job. I hate to admit it, but I still use Frontpage for some things. Frontpage is notorious for adding unwanted code into files, and I don't like that at all. But it is very good for some things, especially setting up tables (if you don't like to code them by hand.)

    So far I've been using some clone of vi (vim). Kate too.

    It's nice that the average computer comes with all the stuff you need to build a website. Dreamweavers costs how much? Vi for the win.

    Notepad ++ is the best I guest so.. Though there is no WYSIWYG its a perfect coding platform. You need time to learn how to use Dreamweaver and I suggest you to take that time learning HTML and CSS(though you need more time):D
