I'm not at all satisfied with google's desktop search, nor did I like the look and feel of coppernic. are there any you strongly recommend?
i using google desktop search and i'm satisfied with this. best property is caching web pages that i visit.
what exactly don't you like about the google desktop search? I've been using it for quite some time now and I think it's pretty good
lack of advanced features. it doesn't dig deep enough into files (I have log files that're megabytes large), you can't specify filesize, extension, etc. last I checked. which I admit was a while ago.
Windows search option! But, seriously, Google Desktop and Copernic are the only ones that I'm familiar with. There is also Yahoo Desktop Search but, I doubt that it has more features than the two above.
these seem like such basic features, I really can't believe they aren't in any software out there currently.
