After a couple hours of research, I feel as if fatcow is a good webhosting site. But b4 I sign up with them, I wanted to get a pro's opinion. Any1 know of a better webhosting that will support a forum, shopping cart, and a page with the fmyscript script? I am fairly new to website design but am trying to learn about html and css.

You should have posted this in Digital Point Forums > Design & Development > Site & Server Administration > Web Hosting :)

They are a big, reputed, decent host. Their control panel is Plesk I guess, and not cPanel. I haven't used Plesk so I don't know how it compares to cPanel. More people prefer cPanel though. Both are very popular control panels. They don't support cron jobs (due to Plesk). If you don't know what cron jobs are, then you probably don't need to worry about it.

All hosts support forums, shopping carts, etc. If you're building an e-commerce site, pay extra attention to the e-commerce features (SSL certificates, etc) supported by the host.

I wonder if any host will have issues with the content on fmy... kind of sites...

FatCow is good, There are better hosts (feature wise), but they are also be more expensive. Check out www.webhostlist.in/plans/paid for a list of some popular, big, reputed hosts. You can also compare plans from multiple webhosts.

For the the price Fatcow is great if you are just doing a basic site, wordpress, or whatever. I prefer hostmonster though. Not that much more expensive, yet much better tools, features, and cPanel.

You say that you need a web host to support a forum, shopping cart, and a page with the fmyscript script, yet you look at web hosting that costs less than $50 for 1 year such as FatCow... I would look for a VPS... Forums and shopping carts are very resource demanding, unless you plan on having minimal traffic... It's easy to find a VPS for cheap these days... Good luck to you.

I've heard bad things about them. I'd go with hostmonster or dreamhost

I am using them now, I have my ecommerce site hosted with them, and had no problems, if I had any questions, I would go to their 24 hr chat support, and they would help as best as they could. Most seemed ignorant, and script-like, but after much explination I could get an answer, or figure it out on my own with the information they would provide. However, I've signed up a second plan to host a new site with them, and have had nothing but problems. Everytime I update, or change my site in any way, the update or change does not show up at my site: raygetsitdone.com, but it does show up at my dedicated subdomain: mycontrolpanellogin.fatcow.com, I have talked to support each time i've made a change, and each time they would update my domain name so everything was fine, but then I would make another change or update, and it would not show, and back to support I would go. Until now I hadn't noticed that my dedicated subdomain was being updated just fine and I mentioned it to the support rep I was talking to, I said something like maybe there is a problem with the server and my domain, and he quickly got upset and defensive saying "there is nothing wrong with the fatcow servers". He also told me that they did not help with code and scripting, even though it is clearly not a coding and script problem, after much frustration and attempts to explain to the ignorant script reader my problem, he said I will receive contact from a specialist via a support ticket he is starting for me.

My conclusion: I will be changing hosting plans when it comes time, or unless they can't resolve this within the next day. I may change sooner if I get the money to do so, as this could be a serious problem if it were to happen on my ecommerce site. Also, keep in mind the $44.00 cost does not include domain privacy, or any other basic features such as security or back-up & restore systems, those all cost an additional 9-13 dollars per year.

I don't know where else to go, but DO GO ELSEWHERE.

However, the control panel they have is easy to navigate, and I haven't had any issues with it. I haven't used any others though.
