Since every time I see this topic started on a forum, the entire thread ends up in a fight without a purpose between fans of various Web browsers, this morning I decided to do a little test just for myself. After running the entire benchmark at least two or three times for each browser, I ended up with some interesting results, so I decided to come here and share the results with the rest of the community. First of all, let me tell you a few words about the hardware/software setup used: AMD X2 4000+ Brisbane CPU@2.5 GHz, 2 GB DDR2@840MHz and 4-4-4-11 CR2 latency, MSI NEO-F v3 mainboard, 1 TB 7200 rpm drive with 32 MB buffer, HD 4770 video with 512 MB GDDR5 memory (I guess the HDD and video card don't matter much) running Windows XP SP3 Professional. At the time of the tests, I had Xion Player running, Pidgin and the antivirus - Avira AntiVir Personal. For every browser, I ran the tests with a single window/tab open. The browsers used are these: Opera 11.01, Firefox 3.6.13, Chrome 7, LunaScape 6, IE 7/8, Safari 5 and, finally, Maxthon 3. I see no point in messing with others like Avant, GreenBrowser, Flock and so on, since they use the same rendering engine as IE or Chrome, so their speed improvements can only be marginal, IF you get lucky... ... but let's cut the chatter and let the numbers speak! Conclusions? Your turn! P.S. In case you are looking for someone to write decent software/hardware-related articles, I am available for work, so feel free to contact me! P.S. 2 Since I can't attach more than 5 images to this post, feel free to grab the full size images from here.
I am glad you like it. Pale Moon is just a bit faster than Firefox - I got about 2200 score in the benchmark with it a few minutes ago and, to be honest, I never heard of it until now.
