- ping to google through cms
- google sitemap
- publish your site through blogger
- put it in social network : digg, fb, etc

Usally if you install a wordpress or joomla in you host , google will index you web just about in 1 hour

 

Most of the comments above is ordinary methods, i also have same doubt as that of TS,
if you create a new account in twitter or some other site, or post a project in some perticular freelance sites, it will be indexed by google in 30 mins or less, i wonder why this happens, What i have found is there will be some combination of digits in the end of the url such as:
sitename . com/username/XXXXXX

I simply wonder how this happenes.
