Can also look into buying text links. Some might consider this "black hat" but I consider it a method used by many to increase there site popularity, which in return will help your SERP's.
Buying links are not good according to google ! Its also a sot of Black Hat ? What abt Social Bookmarking/Blog Posting and others ?
How about making a usefull site with good information and design? I have never bought links, used a 301, etc. and I end up with a PR of 5+ within 6+ months.
If you will buy links but you will not over do it you will be ok. Spend the money wisely on targeted quality links. Never heard a webmaster to be in problems because he bought 10 PR links, you get the idea.
U can post to splogs with your anchor - blogs which are made just for articles from different departments ... but it can be also treated as black so.. maybe just don't do anything besides real good interesting content and wait until ppl came to ur webside and put themselves in all kind of i-net community boards, good thematic - high pr sites etc ur link and pray for good anchors there, that will be clearest... All methods which have intention to modify serps are BLACK
Everyone wants fast results these days, however it is not easy to do and if it was then everyone would be using the method and or method's. Then those method's of course would no longer work because the engines will change there algo. Yes matt cutts has stated that buying links is not supported by google, which I can see there point by going to "Company A" who sells Product X but has links for gambling, porn, viagra & other pills which has nothing to do with there website. This is what Google is mainly talking abut with buying links. Depending on your website and it's product/service will depend on what links you should buy. Other marketing professionals out there will probably tell you they buy links when you talk to them at a conference or seminar for there customers, they just do not advertise it on there website. I say buy some high PR links, but that is just my opinion. As for blogging, well that will not get you fast results. It takes time to build a blog with great content, large reader base and backlinks to your articles. This will help with your SERP's, however it will not be fast.
Focusing on Keyword Density of your contents, proper use of h1 tags, linkexchange to High Pr related sites... you can 3 way linkexchange to them..
Every method has a hat (green, blue, black, white). I was wrong saying that Methods are ALL finally not seeing good by google. The difference between colour of hats is only how much this method is useful for ppl.
For higher SERPs, make sure you have a Search Engine Friendly website, with proper Titles, and SEF URLs. Then concentrate on incoming links with your important keywords.
