In my experience as a graphic designer and Internet marketer, I have always had the advantage of being able to create my own logo's and graphics that I would otherwise have to outsource like many of you... However, in my experience I have owned many sites where I have no need for a fancy logo, I just want something that looks like it could be professional and that just gives my site a little more than a H1 Tag. I'd like to conduct some market research on you guys to see if a service I have planned, whereby simple logo's are created by me and then customised to your site name for a minimal price - we're talking $1-2 here. The idea is to make a range of options available in a "fast-food" sort of way. Instead of charging $20-80 for a logo design, I can offer a quality logo at low prices on the basis that I will be selling more of them. The logo's would not be unique but they would be custom to your site name and would sit pretty on the top of your sites with a minimum contribution. This will free up more time for you to spend on marketing your site and less on gaining credibility. Would you be interested in a service like this? Would a simple text logo, customised to your site name be of interest to you? How much would you want to pay for something like this? Or.. if you really don't like the idea, then please explain your reasons to help me shape my plan Thanks to all who help out! Alex
I think at $1 - $2 you will never do the volume to make any money. And there are lots of designers from 2nd world countries doing $10 logos....
The logos will be pre-made by myself, and the idea is to simply offer the chance for someone to replace the text on the logo to fit their site. There will be minimal customisation options available as these are not designed to be truly custom logos but just to offer marketers a chance to grab a quick graphic for a minimal cost. I'm not planning on making this service a major earner for me, I offer my design skills at much higher prices and I have been Internet marketing for over 3 years now. I simply thought it might appeal to an audience, and if it did I would set up a mini-site with options and a paypal purchase option. This would add another income, even if just a few dollars a week - the hard work would have been done at the start and it would be a case of filling in the desired text and emailing the files over. The USP is that these logo's will be of an industry standard as I am fully qualified in graphic design. The cost-effective part is that they will not be unique to one buyer. jg123, would you prefer to pay higher prices for more quality? Or perhaps other graphic needs?... How about graphic packages aimed at different niches? These could include header graphics, footers, bullet points, etc and perhaps these packs could be offered as a bonus to buying the logos at a slightly higher price. I'd love to hear all of your wants and needs when it comes to affordable graphics. Alex

I guess it all boils down to whether the logos 'look' like a cheap one. I mean anyone can grab a sexy and grungey looking photoshopy banner from the net and put text on it.
