fansites, adsense, and legal issues

Does anyone know or have experience with "fan sites" and copyright issues? By this I mean say a video game fan site for xbox. Naturally the site will have Microsoft's logos and trade marks all over it, plus those of the game companies. While I doubt there are people getting sued left and right because of this; if a fan site has adsense on it (or some other advertising) aren't they in muddy waters? They are profiting off of the trademarks and logos of Microsoft and the respective game companies. It is a given that they don't have permission from these companies. At what point does this scenario become a legal problem for the site owner?

Try to " All copyrights belongs to thier respective owners " or something like that, then a link where the copyrighters can mail and ask you to remove the picture :)

I don't think it's copyrigting violation of taking Microsoft logo and put it somewhere down on your page! But it's something ilegal if you take the microsoft logo and set it at your own logo , got me?! like acting with the microsoft logo , as your own logo :) this is all copyright about!
if a buy a book and give it for free to a library isn't copyright, but if i reproduce that book or parts of that books copyrights problems

The problems with copyrights appering only when you try to get something that is not yours, not advertesing others! lol , if i make a picture with a pepsi botle, and upload an .jpg with me and a pepsi botle, that isn't copyright :)
