Fan Sites

    Hey,

I'm going to be starting up a fan site soon, based on a popular WWE wrestler. Now please don't straight away think, WWE! WRESTLER? Dark crappy template with a noob owner?? It's not like that, I know what I'm doing.

The wrestler it's going to be based on is searched for 30,000+ a day, that's 25,000 (at minimum) times more than any other wrestler in the WWE.

There's another word that's searched a lot with him and that's going to be included in the domain. I'll be using lots of keywords and promoting it quite a bit.

I was wondering how much fan sites can sell for? I'm talking successful fan sites that have revenue and daily traffic. I'd be selling it on SitePoint too.

I've seen a WWE diva fan site sell for $1,000 on Site Point, and it really wasn't that great.

What do you think? If you're going to make the typical "Wrestling sucks it won't get you anywhere" reply, please don't bother :p

I've made and sold a few fan sites in the past and they fetched anywhere from $25 to $300.

It all depends on how much work has been put into it and how much money it starts making. That's what the new owners will care about.

But yeah, a fan site will sell like any other site. Just take the revenue it makes per month and multiply that by 12 and that's roughly what most people will pay for it.
