not sure where to post this question, but I was wondering from others who operate fan sites (celebrities, athletes, etc.) are they are profitable? It seems like it would be relatively easy to generate large amounts of traffic since they are some of the most searched terms but the traffic would be hard to monetize.
Thanks for your adivce, Dcteam. But I'm already locked in a padded cell with classical music pumping through the loud speakers, beyond help. Must...make....fan...site...for...nintendo....
Okay, copy all of Nintendo's posts and pictures into Word and then click save as HTML and post all those nasty little pages on some space I'm sure a fellow DP psycho would donate and then run an adwords campaign for "Wacko" to get a bit of traffic. Obviously don't tell Nin anything about this as a really fan should be like a stalker and not known to the celeb at all. You could call your self ALLEM or MELAL to fool him. I'm now going downstairs to open another beer
And i'm going upstairs to avoid having another beer, Before I really do end up with a site about Wacky McWackerson. Night folks!
Good night Mel, Sorry for the hijack there Ben, in answer to you question it is possible via adsense and/or banner ads but I would sepext CPM to be very low so you would need a lot of traffic to make it profitable, I know their is a member here with a celeb (Terri Hatcher I think) that seems to be making okay money form Adsense.
You can make some OK money once you have a big member base. A lot of companies choose to advertise on communities.
