* Famous $100 48 hr PSD Only Contest: Kidz! *

Hey Guys!

It's oneawesomeguy again with another contest. Woo hoo!

The following website is for a non-profit who helps kids with cancer. I really want to help them get a nice website up.

We had considered a "safari" theme, incorporating animals like lions and giraffes, in the same "sketched" design as our logo. Some specific changes we're sure we want include are:

• Our logo to be bigger and more prominent.
• Some sort of animation in our navigation menu
• An exciting, child-oriented background
• Brighter, more vibrant colors

What we like about above website:

• The bright vibrant colors
• The animation
• The child-oriented feel
• The "illustration" look

Basically, the new design should feature all the same aspects as the current website, since it will be converted into a Wordpress theme. This is just a design for a single page though so do not go all crazy and spend 100s of hours on it.

CONTEST DETAILS:
1. Submit web design entries until Monday, November 16 - 9am Eastern Standard Time (GMT -5) (That is 2pm London/GMT time and 7:30pm India/IST time).
2. To be fair: No entries via PM and no late entries, please.
3. Once 48 hours is up, I will review all designs thoroughly and give my thoughts/opinions on every single design. This usually takes me 2-3 week days.
4. Winner provides .PSD (or .XCF for GIMP users) file and fonts used. I will send $100 via PayPal and give honest iTrader.

RULES:
By submitting an entry, you agree to the following:
1. You must create the designs yourself. No templates. You must not use any images you do not have the right (i.e., copyright) to use.
2. Only the winner agrees to transfer me rights to that design. I will not use any of the other designs and feel free to remove them from this thread once the contest is over.
3. You are free to put in watermarks to protect your work but make the watermark say "Sample".
4. By accepting the winnings, you agree to give me full rights to your design and you agree that you will not use this design for anything else.

The 48 hour deadline will be enforced as long as there are at least five entries. One person can submit as many entries as he or she wants.

SUGGESTIONS:
1. For images, check out iStockPhoto or similar sites and use their free comps. Only pay for the images if you win (Note: No istockphoto logos on the winning design sent to me).
2. For colour combinations, check out colourlovers.com--an awesome website!
3. Do not do revisions on every little thing I mention. Seriously. If I really want something done, I will ask you specifically. No need to waste time.
4. If you can code your own design, let me know how much extra that would cost. This will not affect your chances of winning in any way.

No Flash. Only a straight-up PSD design needed here.

2-3 week days not weeks. Week days = Monday through Friday.

 

Hy you want it to look like woordpres to keep that look (exemple: like in your print screen from your old site) or....?
Some other emeple of your style will help....

Answering PM question: This is for a single one-page PSD website design.

Other question: Logo can be redesigned or you can use the same logo. Whatever looks better with your design.

See sample site in the original post for some ideas. The website does not need to be very fancy or business-like. Just try to make it kid-friendly with bright colours and you will be golden.

Hey guys. Great to see some designs coming in. I am about to sleep for the night, but I will be back tomorrow when the contest ends. If you are pressed for time, just post up what you have even if it is not finished. I will judge only on what I see though.

I like the grass, the bright green, and the giraffe. The clouds are great too. I also liked the blue colour and how the logo is spelled-out as if it was hand-written. I am not 100% on those weird animals at the top. Let me think about those a little bit... What I liked about your design is that when I look at it, I am happy. That is the main point.
