False report of Google Talk update?

    According to news.com, Google Talk received an update today to include voicemail and file transfers.

    But I've clicked 'Check for Updates Now' several times, and visited the gtalk website, but there is no mention of the update anywhere!!

    Is this a phony report?

    that's insane, I was on that page just before i posted this thread, and now it's there!

    Still no update from the app itself though..

    I believe that an update is installed automatically without notifying the end user.

    If an update has been downloaded, you will have to close gtalk & (perhaps) restart your PC to get it working as per their latest version.

    the update has happened!!!
    (I did have to manually check for updates to get it though)
