My friend who has a blog made his sub title "I am currently studying law to become a lawyer" to achieve better earnings per click and I know for a fact that he isn't. Is that against the TOS even though google will probably never find out ?
Google will never find out? Lol... that's the first mistake. Assuming things. Before Google pays publishers, they review every website Adsense is placed on. Yes, they know where your Adsense codes are placed. If they feel you have been taking advantage, he may get an e-mail and post a thread about it when it's time to get paid. I suggest NOT to do this. Just be honest and create a website for quality... P.S: I really like the look of the blog in your signature!
But the blog he has is a legitimate blog. It's one of those diary/ journal ones. It's just that the description (below the title) says what I posted above.
If it's not keyword spamming... I don't see why it would be 'illegal.' Although you need to remember his intentions are "not good."
Most of his ads will probably still be about his main content, though, which would render the whole exercise worthless. As for it being 'allowed' - sure.
The thing to remember about these types is that they typically continue to "up the ante" trying more and different things. At some point, the scales tip as far as the legitimacy of what they are doing and they are nailed.
Yep. that's exactly what I thought when I first read the thread, but didn't bother posting since we need another drama thread next week.
Saying you are studying to become a lawyer while you are not is in fact lieing. It is unethical and if you take the rules very strictly illegal. The problem is Google is never going to prove it since they are not going to search trough your personal information just to find out wether the word 'law' is misplaced or not. One word or sentence is not much of a problem, but only one word won't change the adds. Spamming false keywords is illegal and will get you banned. You can easily bend laws, play on the edge of Google's terms or even the law. My advice is to just keep your hands clean, and don't use any borderline techniques to try and make more money.
