I've noticed a 50% fall in google traffic over traffic over the last 6-7 months. I've checked and I still have high first page rankings for my KeyWords. Until 6-7 months ago google traffic was increasing by at least 10% per month. What explains this? What would you do? What am I doing wrong? My website referals are up and compensate for the loss of google traffic but overall I've had little increase in total uniques and return visitors.
Are your products or services seasonal, were they at a peak around Xmas last year (7 months ago)? Or are you talking about a steady decline?
Steady decline in google traffic and the site is not seasonal (though the figures did plumet for about 8 days over Christmas/New Year Dec 2007 and Jan 2008 were among the site's best months ever).
Do you mean to say...google is loosing race against other search engines..and getting less traffic for your keyword........i think..this cannot be correct..
I agree the summer allows many to go outside and enjoy non Internet life. But also consider the economy is poor. If your site sells products/services, traffic may be down because many people and businesses are tightening their budgets.
Holidays and summer are slower on the internet. Check terms and see what they are listed as for searches. They can change people try new terms to find what they want.
google is the best thing for searching about cars, food, sports and aslo about yours study.its is the best way to find your life partner and also a good friend their.
Thanks, I think the seasonal outdoor life theories could be correct. The biggest trend increase, when traffic doubled, was in September 2007. April 2008 saw the trend reverse. I'll be interested to see if the traffic returns this September.
Have you tried reviewing your competitors traffic as well? I use compete.com are there any other sites you guys use to track as well?
